Our 14 year old Tatie has not been feeling his regular feisty self. What's really odd is his voice changed. Tatie is very talkative!
He's had testing and his kidneys are in distress, if we can't turn them he will go into kidney failure. He already has chronic renal (UTI) issues that we can control with 'Special' food.
We are waiting on yet another 'Special' food and meds from the vet, and after a week he will be retested to see how his kidney function results compare.
So for now, he's here, he hurts, but he's here!

poor baby. Consider making food for Tatie. I did when my boy kitty started having bladder and kidney issues. All protien, raw foods with turine. No grains. Google BARF diet for cats. It has been nearly 2 years and no reoccurances. No medications.
ReplyDeleteThanks for Tatie's story. Please keep on posting on his progress.
ReplyDeleteCyK, the vet is concerned over controlling proteins so I'm not sure tomake th food would work just yet. I'll consider it in the future if this all works out. Thanks
ReplyDeleteSteve, he's on day 2 and the pain meds are helping. He was eating before, but not much just now. Time will tell!
Thanks to all
Debi
