2 Katydids in 2 days

I'm not sure I had ever seen a real katydid before.   But last night when J & M's cat, Raui, came through munching on a big green bug I just knew, instinctively, that that is what it was.

And now tonight, we have one in the pool net sitting on the patio table.  Tom caught it in our kitchen garden.

Curious, eh?

  1. Aren't they fascinating? Islagringo and I encountered one at an outdoor restaurant during our swing through Yucatan. It was attracted to a light, lost its lift, and crashed on a metal cafe table. It sounded like a gong. But it entertained us for he next half hour until I took it to a shrubbery to set it free.

  3. If they are good enough for humans they should be just fine for your kitty.
